Refund Policy

This Refund Policy applies exclusively to purchases of CosmicWriter software. It does not apply to any other products or services on cosmichorizons.org.

Our Commitment

We want CosmicWriter to work for you. If you run into a problem we can't fix, we'll make it right.

7-Day Satisfaction Guarantee

If CosmicWriter fails to run on your system and we are unable to resolve the issue within a reasonable timeframe, you may request a full refund within 7 days of purchase.

To qualify:

  • Your request must be submitted within 7 days of the original purchase date.
  • You must contact us first at [email protected] and allow us a reasonable opportunity to help resolve the issue.
  • Your system must meet the minimum requirements (Windows 10/11 or macOS 12+, internet connection for license validation and AI API calls).

EU / EEA Customers — 14-Day Statutory Right

If you are located in the European Union or European Economic Area, applicable consumer law provides a 14-day withdrawal period from the date of purchase. Where this statutory right conflicts with our 7-day policy above, the 14-day period governs for EU/EEA customers. To exercise this right, email [email protected] with subject line CosmicWriter Refund Request within 14 days of purchase.

Please note: by checking the agreement box at checkout and receiving your license key, you consent to immediate delivery of digital content. Under EU Directive 2011/83/EU, this consent may limit the right of withdrawal if the software has been used to generate and publish content. If you have not yet used the software, the 14-day withdrawal right applies in full.

When Refunds Are Not Available

  • More than 7 days have passed since purchase (14 days for EU/EEA customers).
  • The license key has been activated on two (2) machines (both activation seats have been used).
  • The request is due to a change of mind rather than a technical failure (except where EU/EEA statutory rights apply).
  • The software was used to generate and publish content (except where EU/EEA statutory rights apply).

How to Request a Refund

  1. Email [email protected] with subject line: CosmicWriter Refund Request
  2. Include your Gumroad order number and the email address used at purchase.
  3. Describe the issue you encountered.

We will respond within 2 business days. Approved refunds are processed through Gumroad and typically appear within 5–10 business days depending on your payment method.
