By purchasing, downloading, or using CosmicWriter you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the software.
Upon purchase you receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use CosmicWriter on up to two (2) personal computers that you own or control. You may not sublicense, sell, rent, lease, or otherwise transfer the software or your license key to any third party.
CosmicWriter connects to third-party APIs (AI providers, image providers, WordPress). Your use of those services is governed by their own terms. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or cost of third-party APIs.
We may release updates to CosmicWriter from time to time. Updates are provided at our discretion and are not guaranteed. We reserve the right to change features or discontinue the software with reasonable notice.
CosmicWriter is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the software will be error-free or uninterrupted.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event shall Mark Cox or Cosmic Horizons be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits or data, arising out of your use of CosmicWriter, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the software in the twelve months preceding the claim.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Mark Cox, Cosmic Horizons, and their successors from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of CosmicWriter; (b) any content you create, publish, or distribute using the software; (c) your violation of these Terms; or (d) your violation of any third-party rights.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Madison County, Illinois.
We may update these Terms at any time. We will note the effective date at the top of this page. If you are located in the EU/EEA, we will notify you of any material changes by email before they take effect. For all other users, continued use of CosmicWriter after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
